Charlie Grice is a British middle distance athlete from Brighton. He is the current British outdoor 1500m Champion. Charlie competes for Brighton Phoenix Athletics Club, which was founded by Olympic Champion Steve Ovett.
He was a promising footballer who played at county level however after trying to balance both sports and picking up a few injuries he decided to concentrate on athletics which turned out to be a good decision.
In 2010 Charlie burst onto the scene, breaking the English Schools 1500m Championship Record, and winning a bronze medal at the inaugural World Youth Olympics in Singapore. Since then Charlie has broken several of Ovett’s junior records on the track; the most impressive being his 3:57.9 mile time at the age of 18.
Fast forward to 2016, Charlie is 5x National senior Champion in the 1500m and at the age of 22 is already a European, Commonwealth World and Olympic Finalist. Now he fixes his focus on winning medals for his country.
Charlie is business and sport science graduate from St Mary’s University, London.
